the report:
Drumcomg girls booked their place in the county final with a decisive 8 -10 to 1-2 win over Bornacoola in Park Lane, Carrick-on-Shannon on Thursday May 16th. With two early goals from Sinead Tighe and Tara Evans things were looking good, and a goal and a point from Aoife Mc Weeney and three more points from Tara left it 3-4 to 1-1 at half time. Drumcong got off to a great start in the second half with a goal each from Aine Tighe and Clodagh Foley. It was all Drumcong after that. With Claire Kelly, Kathy Beirne and Christine Gill playing their hearts out in the backs and clearing everything that came their way. Magthel also played her part with a few excellent saves. Just towards the end Bornacoola came back with a good point. Second half scorers were Aoife 1-3, Aine 2-0, Clodagh 1-0, Nicloe McMahon 1-0, Sinead 0-2, Tara 0-1.
