Huge celebrations as Kiltubrid win the Intermediate Championship and get promoted to Senior football. In a tense game Kiltubrid opened the scoring with a point from Karol Scollan. Then followed 6 minutes of Kiltubrid domination but no change to the scores until O'Heslins opened their score with a point in the 8th minute. O'Heslins then took the lead with a point in the 10th minute. Kiltubrid replied in the 15th minute with a point from team captain Conor Doherty. Three minutes later Christy Carroll opened his account with a fine point for Kiltubrid. Conor Doherty added another to his personal tally and O Heslin's replied with a point, which was their final score of the half. Kiltubrid finished the half with 2 points from Christy Carroll and John Paul O'Donoghue to leave it 6 points to 3 in favour of Kiltubrid. In a very tense second half it was tit for tat with O'Heslins opening the scoring. This was replied with a Kiltubrid score from Conor Doherty. O'Heslins took control for the next 10 minutes registering 3 more points to bring them within 1 point of Kiltubrid. Conor Doherty scored another for Kiltubrid from a free and then ensued approx 16 minutes of hectic play up and down the field. Kiltubrid sealed a well deserved victory with frees from Shane Foley and Conor Doherty in the the last 2 minutes of normal time. The 3 minutes of injury time saw a close attempt at goal from O'Heslins Paul McKiernan and O'Heslins tried to no avail to breach Kiltubrids resilient defence. A very proud Conor Doherty accepted the cup on behalf of the panel of players, team mentors and the parish of Kiltubrid.
