the report:

An understrength Aughawillan team qualified for the Division 1 League final on Saturday evening with a 1.12 to 1.07 win over Kiltubrid. In an entertaining game, Aughawillan set the early pace with points from Niamh McGlade to take a four point lead before Miranda Burke pointed to settle Kiltubrid. A goal from Sinead Tighe gave Kiltubrid a first half lifeline but Aughawillan still held the upper hand at half time leading by 0-7 to 1-02. An early Kiltubrid point reduced the arrears as Aughawillan again began to gain some momentum to stretch their lead to two points. Mid mad through the half a well struck 45 from Maeve Quinn caused confusion in the Kiltubrid defence and went straight into the net putting some distance between the teams. Kiltubrid continued to press forward but some poor finishing by the forwards ensured that Aughawillan enjoyed a five point win.
