Hello, My mother (Margaret Shanley) was the 7th of ten born to Patrick and Jane Shanley. They lived in Tooman and attended St. Brigid's. As I look through the news letters, I see many of the surnames that my mother used to speak of... Mulvanerty,Early, Leddy, and many more. I suppose they are the children or grandchildren of the folks she knew. Sadly, she passed at the age of 86 in 2000. I was back 2 times with her to Leitrim and LOVED it there...I'd love to hear from anyone who remember my mom and her family..
God Bless you all~

Well done, Kiltubbrid!
My Grandad was there, shouting for his home parish, despite having lived the last 60 years in Coolera. There was no division of loyalty, however, as he had played on the Kiltubbrid side, but never for Coolera. Shame there's no Carters left there now, but we got a great welcome from the "new" people in Shanraw when we visited last week.
Lovely place.

My family and I appreciate the acknowledgment of the passing of my father John James Leddy, this past year. His heart was always at home when remembering his beloved Ireland.

My ggGrandparents were born in Kiltubrid in the 1820's. Thomas Gannon and Rose Gallagher. I am wondering if there are any family members still living in the area. I believe Rose died in the early 1900's. I've never been able to find out anything more about Thomas other than his wedding date and the names of his 8 children. Any information would be most appreciated. Directions to the Ancient Kiltubrid Cemetery would also be most appreciated. I'll be visiting at the end of March!!!
Thanks,
Nancy

I am researching my family history -- the McWeeney family of Crummy, Kiltrubrid. My Grandfather was Andrew, married to Bridget O'Neil. His father was Michael, married in 1850 to Winifred Gill, daughter of Eugene.
Andrew married Bridget in 1903. They had: Kathleen (my grandmother), Bridget, Michael, Mary Agnes (Nora), Eugene, Winifred (Vena), Andrew, and Patrick. Patrick (Charlie) married Sarah Flynn. Families in the area were the Flynns, Redicans, Dwyer, Quinn, Mulvey, Blessing, and McKiernan. Would appreciate any leads.
