Fixtures and results
Well done to the under 16 team and panel who won their league semi final against a quality Bornacoola team on Friday last. The game was played in ideal conditions in a sunny Aughnasheelin. After a fierce battle the game was level at the end of normal time. Extra time was needed to separate the sides, by sheer hard work, grit and fierce determination we managed to keep Bornacoola scoreless in both periods of extra time. All the players upped their game in extra time and committed teamwork helped fashion the vital few scores to give us a deserved victory at the end. The team and subs used on this occasion were as follows; Declan Kelly, Sean Prior, Fergal Mc Weeney, Conor Prior, Cian Mc Keon, Micheal Mc Cormack, Eoin Dolan (Captain), Patrick Meehan, Stephen Mc Loughlin, Paddy Kelly, Cian Gibbons & Niall Crossan. We now play Garadice Gaels in the next game. Watch this space for a date for this. Keep up the hard work lads; training should seem that little bit easier next week. A text for training will be sent out during the week and it is very important that all players on the panel attend or contact one of the coaches if you can’t attend.
Both the division 1 & 3 league teams lost over the weekend, with the junior team loosing to Carrigallen in Kiltubrid on Friday night while the senior team lost away to Gortletteragh on Sunday. However it was good to see some old faces back on the field after wintering well!!!!
Underage Blitz
We played a biltz in Carrigallen on Saturday morning last. All in all almost 50 children from Kiltubrid took part in the blitz and by all accounts a good day out was had by all time.
Exams
The Club would like to wish all our players who are starting their exams this week every success, no doubt all the hard work will pay off.
Birth
Congratulations to Kevin, Niamh, Lauren and Leona Meehan on the birth of their bouncing new baby boy Liam. Congratulations also to the proud Grandparents Brian and Anne Meehan and we have no doubt that Liam will only be delighted when it comes to starting school with all the lovely twin girls he’ll have to chose from, best wishes from all in the Club
