Fixtures & Results
The junior team had another good win in round 2 of the junior B championship on Sunday morning when we overcame neighbours Leitrim Gaels in Drumshanbo. The final score being 6-16 to 1-4 with some great performances being put in by the younger players with the help of the experienced older heads. Our final round game is against Aughavas in a couple of weeks. With both ourselves and Aughavas tied at the top of the group this game will decide who goes forward as group winners and who is the runner up.
Our under 14’s host Gortletteragh at home in Kiltubrid in the championship this Thursday July 11th with a 7 pm throw in. On Sunday morning the Division 3 team play Eslin in Kiltubrid at 11 noon in the league. We wish all the lads the best of luck.
Football Championship Qualifier
Best of luck to the Leitrim senior team who host the Orchard County, Armagh on Saturday evening in Paric Sean Mac Diarmuda with a 5 pm throw in. Tickets can be purchased at the ground.
Leo Kenny Cup
Our Seniors plus many of our Junior squad travelled to Geevagh last Tuesday to play the home side in the Leo Kenny Cup. A great game of end to end stuff for the full hour entertained the scattering of supporters there. Despite missing some of our Senior team, we put up a brave performance for the hour. We ended up on the wrong side of a 1-17 to 1-11 result. We thank all players who made sure we had a good size panel togged out especially the Junior players and all those players who travelled from Dublin. Thanks to the Geevagh club for their after match hospitality and for facilitating us with an adjustment to the throw-in time. Geevagh native Maureen Earley can keep her head held high for a wee bit longer!
